Nielsen
survey on Device Meter (ODM) pda February 2014 released today show to
chat needs, the fuel is still used by 79 percent of smart phone users in
Indonesia. Fuel topped the use of instant messaging.
In the second place, WhatsApp user shadowing with 57 percent, followed by LINE, which stood at 30 percent.
The results are relevant to a user's primary activity. The Nielsen survey noted that users spend an average of 140 minutes per day to use their cell phones.
Of the total active time, 37 minutes is used for chat, 27 minutes to
surfing / browsing, 23 mins for utility apps, 17 minutes to 15 minutes
for gaming and multimedia.
Further messaging (8 minutes), calls (6 minutes), and phone navigation
(3 minutes), email, phone features, and security office packages each
spend 1 minute per day.
The majority of active users at certain hours, such as after hours of work in the period between 18.00 - 22.00. Most of the time used to chat followed by browsing and gaming.
Women are more active
While the measurement of the demographics, the average female users spend more time each day to talk than men.
Nielsen findings show women spend 43 minutes per day for a chat, while men only 32 minutes per day.
As for messaging (SMS and MMS) and phone calls, women also spend a
little more time than men in which women spend 9 minutes per day for
messaging and 7 minutes on the phone, while men spend 9 minutes for
messaging and 5 minutes for the phone.
Judging
from the age group, the smartphone users among young adults (25-30
years) to spend more time to chat (47 minutes) compared with other age
groups.
